The Amana RKLC10M70 DigiWatt Line-Voltage Relay Kit (10-Pack) is a commercial energy management solution engineered for hotel, multi-family, and senior living properties. Working in tandem with Amana Eden wireless RF occupancy sensors (such as the DS01G or DD01E) and PTAC mainboard antennas, these 30-Amp 120VAC relays automatically cut electrical power to non-critical lighting and appliance circuits whenever a guest room becomes unoccupied.

By shutting down secondary energy draws—such as floor lamps, desk lighting, televisions, and small appliances—while keeping essential devices (refrigerators, alarm clocks, charging stations) continuously powered, the RKLC10M70 system slashes building electric overhead without disrupting the guest experience.

Electrical Rating: Rated for 30A resistive / general-purpose loads at 120VAC (480W LED/CFL, 840W Incandescent). Controls up to 5 non-critical 115V circuits per room setup. Must be installed during electrical rough-in or renovation.

Automated Guest Room Energy Setback Beyond the PTAC Chassis

In hospitality and commercial lodging, guest room utility waste extends far beyond the air conditioner. Guests frequently leave lamps, accent lighting, televisions, and personal electronics running when departing the room for extended periods. The Amana RKLC10M70 DigiWatt Lighting Control Relay Kit extends the power of your Amana Eden Energy Management System (EMS) to manage line-voltage electrical loads throughout the entire room footprint.

How the DigiWatt Occupancy Relay Network Works

  1. Unoccupied Detection: The in-room Amana Eden RF occupancy sensor (DS01G) detects when guests have exited the room and communicates wirelessly with the PTAC control board.
  2. Automated Circuit Interruption: The PTAC signals the RKLC10M70 line-voltage relays mounted in room electrical junction boxes, instantly de-energizing designated non-critical 115V branch circuits.
  3. Seamless Guest Return: As soon as a guest unlocks the door or re-enters the room, the occupancy sensor re-engages the relays, restoring full electrical power instantly to all lamps and appliances.

Heavy-Duty 30A Commercial Relay Engineering

  • High Load Capacity: Each relay features a heavy-duty 30A 120VAC contact rating suitable for general purpose resistive loads, up to 480W of modern LED/CFL lighting drivers, or 840W of incandescent/halogen illumination.
  • Multi-Circuit Control: A single room setup can utilize up to 5 relays to control distinct lighting zones and outlet groups independently.
  • Selective Power Routing: Electrical subcontractors wire non-critical devices (lamps, TV outlets) through the RKLC10M70 relays, while leaving critical continuous circuits (nightstand USB chargers, mini-fridges, medical equipment) on un-switched bypass lines.

10-Pack Line Voltage Relays: Includes 10 individual 120V commercial lighting control relay modules.

30-Amp Contact Load Rating: Handles 30A resistive/general-purpose 120VAC electrical loads.

480W LED / CFL Rating: Fully compatible with modern energy-efficient LED fixtures and electronic ballasts.

Compact Electrical Box Mounting: Mounts inside standard electrical junction boxes during construction or remodel rough-in.

Compatible with Feature Code "L" PTACs: Integrates natively with factory-installed feature code "L" Amana PTAC chassis.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the purpose of the Amana RKLC10M70 relay kit? +

A: The RKLC10M70 kit contains 10 line-voltage relays designed to shut off electrical power to non-critical lighting, lamps, TVs, and small appliances in hotel rooms when the Amana Eden EMS occupancy sensor detects that the room is vacant.

Q2: How many relays come in the RKLC10M70 kit? +

A: Every RKLC10M70 order includes a 10-pack of individual wall relays, providing enough components to outfit multiple guest rooms or multi-circuit layouts.

Q3: What electrical load and wattage can each RKLC10M70 relay handle? +

A: Each relay is rated for 30 Amps at 120VAC for general resistive loads, up to 480 Watts for LED/CFL lighting fixtures, and 840 Watts for incandescent/halogen loads.

Q4: How are the relays installed in the guest room? +

A: The relays are hardwired directly into 115V branch circuit junction boxes by an electrician during construction or room renovation rough-in, connecting the non-critical light switches and outlets to the Eden EMS control loop.

Q5: Will shutting off room power affect refrigerators, alarm clocks, or charging stations? +

A: No. Electricians wire essential continuous devices (refrigerators, alarm clocks, nightstand USB outlets) on bypass circuits, ensuring they stay powered while the RKLC10M70 relays only control non-critical lamps and secondary lighting.
